Web Research Capabilities

TenderB's web research functionality provides real-time access to current information from the internet, expanding the AI's knowledge beyond its training data.

When to Use Web Research

Activate web research when you need:

  • Current market data or statistics

  • Recent regulatory changes or legal updates

  • Competitor information

  • Industry trends and news

  • Technical specifications for products or standards

  • Best practices and case studies

  • Geographic or location-specific information

How to Use Web Research

Step 1: Activate Web Context
Before typing your message, click the "Web" button below the input field. The button highlights in blue when active.

Step 2: Formulate Your Request
Type a clear, specific request. Include:

  • The topic or subject

  • Geographic scope if relevant (e.g., "in the Netherlands")

  • Time frame if relevant (e.g., "regulations updated in 2024")

  • Specific aspects you're interested in

Example: "Please find the latest legal guidelines regarding fuel tank storage and fuel storage regulations in the Netherlands. Search online for regulations updated in 2024."

Step 3: Send the Request
Click send or press Enter.

Step 4: AI Acknowledgment
The AI acknowledges your request and explains its search strategy.

Step 5: Search Execution
The AI formulates multiple search queries and executes searches. You'll see a loading indicator.

Step 6: Results Display
Search results appear with:

  • Source title

  • URL

  • Description/excerpt

  • Timestamp (when available)

  • "View full content" button

Step 7: View Full Content
Click "View full content" on any result to see the complete text in a modal window.

Step 8: AI Synthesis
The AI synthesizes information from multiple sources into a coherent response addressing your question.

Step 9: Follow-Up
Ask follow-up questions to dig deeper. The AI will use already-retrieved information or conduct additional searches as needed.

Best Practices

  • Be specific in your requests

  • Specify geography if regulations are location-specific

  • Indicate time sensitivity ("latest," "2024," "recent")

  • Review multiple sources by clicking "View full content"

  • Ask for synthesis: "summarize the key points" or "compare these sources"
