Multi-Factor Authentication Setup

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your TenderB account by requiring a second form of verification beyond your password.

Prerequisites

  • A smartphone or tablet

  • An authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or similar)

  • Access to your TenderB account

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Access Security Settings
Log into TenderB and click the Security icon (shield) in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Navigate to MFA Section
In the Security settings page, locate the "Multi-Factor Authentication" section, typically near the top of the page.

Step 3: Enable MFA
Click the "Enable MFA" button or toggle switch. The interface will transition to the MFA setup wizard.

Step 4: Choose Authentication Method
Select "Authenticator App" as your preferred method (this is the most secure and recommended option).

Step 5: Open Your Authenticator App
On your smartphone, open your authenticator app. If you don't have one installed, download Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator from your app store.

Step 6: Scan the QR Code
TenderB displays a QR code on screen. In your authenticator app:

  • Tap the "+" or "Add" button

  • Select "Scan QR Code"

  • Point your camera at the QR code on your computer screen

  • The app will automatically add TenderB to your account list

Alternative: Manual Entry
If you can't scan the QR code, click "Can't scan?" to reveal a text code. In your authenticator app:

  • Select "Enter setup key manually"

  • Enter "TenderB" as the account name

  • Copy and paste the provided key

  • Ensure "Time-based" is selected

  • Tap "Add"

Step 7: Enter Verification Code
Your authenticator app now displays a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds. Enter the current code in the "Verification Code" field on the TenderB screen.

Step 8: Save Recovery Codes
TenderB displays a set of recovery codes (typically 10 codes). These are critical for account recovery if you lose access to your authenticator app.

  • Click "Download Recovery Codes" to save them as a text file

  • Alternatively, click "Print Recovery Codes" to print a physical copy

  • Store these codes in a secure location (password manager, safe, etc.)

Step 9: Confirm Setup
Check the box confirming you have saved your recovery codes, then click "Complete Setup".

Step 10: Test MFA
Log out of TenderB and log back in to test MFA. After entering your password, you'll be prompted for a verification code from your authenticator app.

Step 11: Success Confirmation
Once you successfully log in with MFA, you'll see a confirmation message: "Multi-Factor Authentication is now active on your account."

Using MFA for Daily Login

Every time you log in to TenderB:

  1. Enter your email and password as usual

  2. You'll see a screen requesting a verification code

  3. Open your authenticator app

  4. Find the TenderB entry

  5. Enter the 6-digit code shown

  6. Click "Verify" to complete login

Recovery Options

Lost phone or authenticator app: Use one of your recovery codes in place of the authenticator code. Each recovery code can only be used once.

Lost recovery codes: Contact your team administrator to reset MFA on your account.
